Sorry so long...

I can't believe it has been almost a week since I have posted, geez what a slacker I am! Actually we have been super busy and playing like crazy. I will do a picture post tomorrow maybe? Today I will just tell you what we have been up to! For starters, KSU is rocking it out in the NCAA tourney. We are in the Sweet 16 and play in Salt Lake tomorrow night!!! Can't wait to see how well they do. Last Friday, Taegan, mom, and I went to Disney on Ice in Kansas City. To say that Taegan loved it is quite an understandment. We had AMAZING seats-front row with not a soul blocking our view. She was in heaven. She danced, ate, clapped, laughed, danced more, and then started it all over again. What a cutie she was. I couldn't believe how much it kept her attention and also how expensive things are in those events. YIKES!

Saturday we had a snow storm-are you kidding me? Taegan and I stayed home while Justin, my dad, and Ryan drove to OKC to watch KSU play. What a night that was for them:) Sunday we got up and went to church. We have been looking for a new church and we think we may have found one. My friend Jamie attends this church and invited us to try it. We went a couple weeks ago, tried another church, and decided to go back to hers Sunday. Taegan loves playing in the nursery there and in about a month or so she will move into a Sunday school class!! She is getting so big:(

Monday we tried out a playgroup that the Parents as Teachers program in town offers. What a fun time that was. Taegan was very shy and not herself, but I think the more we go the better she will be! And-it's free!!!! Tuesday we had MOPS and Taegan moved up to the 2 year old room...growing up so fast. She did really well in there. They do a craft, play outside(if it's nice), snack, and watch a short video. She didn't do so well with the video-but I am hoping she gets better at that! She also played outside last night for 3 hours...what a beautiful day it was outside!! That brings us to today and it is gloomy and rainy out. So I am headed for a nap-Taegan has a cold and is not sleeping well at nights. Which means I don't sleep well either!

March Madness...

I love March Madness time!!! Justin and I each filled out 2 brackets, hung them on the door, and are competing against each other. The winner with the best bracket gets a day planned for them:) It isn't much, but we love to compete against each other. So far-the games have been super close and well-I'm not sure my stress level can handle this for the whole tourney. Let's just hope the Cats pull out the big guns today and play great!

This morning Taegan and I got up, I worked out while she ate, we messed around here at the house, and then we headed to lunch and the zoo with my mom!!! Taegan LOVES the zoo. I can't believe how smart she is and how much she knows about the animals. All my crazy noises and examples are paying off. She continues to talk so much and loves to mimic what we do. She is crazy, and had recently started being a little stinker about running off when asked for help or to do something. She also has quite a temper streak if she wants to show it. We will have to work on that and also sharing!

I am off to watch KSU play and then outside to play with Taegan(it is 60 out)!

Busy weekend...

We had a busy, but very fun weekend. Thursday night Justin and I headed to KC to watch the Cats play OSU. We didn't have tickets to the game, but ended up getting some for 25 each! The game was awesome and it was the only one I got to attend all season:) So we decided since they won by so much that I was a good luck charm and we must go back on Friday night. We headed up there with my friend Maegan and were looking for tickets again. They were WAY too high priced for us. Like 175 each was the cheapest we could find. Maegan ended up getting super lucky and finding one for way cheaper and it was a single ticket. She headed in and we thought after the game tipped off the prices would come down. NOPE! So Justin and I, along with his friend Ryan and his fiance Brooke headed over to Power and Light(a bar district in KC that is right outside the basketball arena) to have a few drinks and watch the game with everyone else who didn't get tickets. The place was packed!! We had a blast, had too much to drink, and KSU won!!! Thanks to Maegan we got home safely:) Saturday was spent lounging around, watching more basketball, and losing an hour of sleep! Sunday we tried a new church, played and had lunch with Kat, Colleen and their families and then home for more lounging. Overall, a very fun weekend-but I am still tired! I am just too old for those late night parties.

I am hoping that the sun continues to come out all week, it came out late this afternoon and I got in a walk and took Taegan to the park!!! Happy Monday.

Ready for Spring...

I think we are being teased with the weather here in Topeka! Last weekend it was wonderful and since then we have had rain and now it is COLD today. I am ready for 50s and 60s to stay!We have been playing inside this week and Miss Taegan is ready to get out and play everyday. She is starting to go stir crazy now that she has been out there and played and can't go back out. Hoping next week we can most days.

I finished Day 2 of the Shred this morning and WOW am I sore. Jillian is kicking my butt into shape and she isn't playing around. It feels good to be doing it, but then I try to sit down or go up stairs and I remember the pain! Oh well-it will help me.

Justin and I are off to watch the Cats play in the Big 12 tourney tonight in KC and I couldn't be more excited. This will be my first and only game that I get to go to this season and I can hardly wait!!!! My mom and dad are watching Taegan for us-we are so lucky to have our parents here in town with us and willing to help. She loves playing with them and getting spoiled by them. Now I just hope we can bring home a Cats win!!!

Vegas, The Shred, and a cutie

It's official-we are going to VEGAS!!! I will be the BIG 3-0 in July and we are heading there with 2 other couples(it should be 3, but poor Kat has other plans:(). I am so excited I have a giant smile on my face every time I think about it. Oh what fun we shall have. We haven't booked anything yet, but we will after Spring Break. With that in the works, that means Justin and I need to get in the works with our weight loss! So, I am hitting it hard starting tomorrow and I will get on here and report how it is going. I have to be held accountable and this is where I am gonna start. I just went to Target tonight and bought this:

I am hoping that it won't kick my butt too much and I will be able to lose pounds and gain my old body back. I'm really not even sure what it looks like to be honest-but I can't wait to see it! I want to LOVE sitting by the pool in Vegas with a fruity drink in my swim suit and that is only gonna happen one way. To lose weight. So here I go-wish me luck!

Taegan as you can imagine has been up to being cute again-when isn't she? She is getting SO verbal and using her words for so much it amazes me. She can express herself(for the most part) and loves to show off using new words. She has also started to love to dress up and wear cute things. Adores looking at herself in the mirror after I put new bows in her hair, new shoes on her feet, or a new outfit on. It really is the cutest thing to watch her smile and laugh at herself!

These are her new "bling shoes". They have sparkles and rhinestones on them. Daddy actually came up with the name for them and it stuck!

This last weekend was gorgeous out so while Justin and I cleaned up the backyard she learned how to climb her ladder so she could go down the slide without waiting on us! She is so big.

Then inside for a bath after playing outside all morning-we have found a new product for bath time-Crayola water changers. She picked pink this day!

I am off to relax tonight and get ready for some butt kicking tomorrow with Jillian! What a treat that will be:)

Go KSU Wildcats...

Tonight is the big game between KU and KSU!!! We will be rooting on the WILDCATS tonight. This is the first time in 50 years that both teams are ranked in the top 5 and playing each other....should be a great matchup!!!

Yuck...

I wish I could say things are great with us and everyone is healthy-but that just isn't true! We have been battling the stomach flu since Taegan starting throwing up Wednesday night. She was sick ALL night long and I was up with her for the entire thing along with Justin. Poor thing, it is so hard to watch them be sick and not know what to do. We would sit with her on a towel and she knew when she needed to get sick to lean over on the towel. Not the best method(lots of laundry) but it was what was least scary to her. She hated the bathtub or the bathroom at all. She just wanted to cuddle and lay on us, which in turn meant we were covered in it! I have the lowest tolerance for sickness which meant I would be getting it soon. And I did-on Saturday. I couldn't even leave the bathroom. This was also the day that Justin and Dad were working on replacing our shower handle(which meant no water for the house). I headed over to Mom and Dad's with Taegan and was sick there all day while Taegan played away with Mom(Thanks MOM!). Now we have a huge hole in our shower that needs to be fixed...booo!!!

I thought we were in the clear when I started feeling better by late Saturday night and woke up Sunday feeling weak, but not sick anymore. That is until Justin started in with it....geez!! He is still recovering today, but at work! Maybe by tomorrow we will all feel 100%. We did end up trying to go to the circus yesterday before Justin was real bad and made it halfway through!!! She really liked it, but it was pretty slow moving and didn't keep her attention through the clown acts and setting up. She got a huge balloon for free and thought she was super cool!
