Weigh in...

Yesterday was the day we weighed in and we both knew that again it would not be that exciting to see. I gained a half pound and he lost a half pound. Nothing to jump up and down about, but nothing to cry about either. So onto another week we go!

I am so ready for Spring to be here so I can get outside more-it kills me to be inside so much, just want to get out and play with Taegan. We will have so much fun once we can start doing more things outside. We love it out there!!!

Have a good weekend, we will be inside watching Grey's Anatomy. We are trying to catch up on the past seasons right now, we just recently decided we might like that show. We are on season 3-getting close!!!

Just for fun...

Here are a few(okay a lot) new pictures of our little peanut...She will be 10 months old this week.

She loves to sleep on a pillow.

Thanks to Di we have this fun climber that we brought in the
house this weekend for her to play on...she can't get enough of the slide!
What a happy face!

Had to show off her new "crocs" that
she got, way cute!
Drinking from a straw.
This was our valentine on Valentine's morning!

On the mend...

I think we are finally starting to get over this crud we have had at our house! I will rejoice in the fact that Taegan has not gotten any of this and I would like to keep it that way. She has been just as happy as can be and is doing great. She is sleeping a little more light than normal and been whiny at times, but nothing to worry about. Justin and I did weigh in last Thursday and I lost a pound and he stayed the same. We have not even been doing the diet thing since we got sick, so planning on tomorrow for the startup again!!! So far, we are doing well-just need to hit it harder and we will get more of a payoff.

Now for an update on what Taegan has been up to:
*Had her top two middle teeth pop through this weekend, thank goodness! She now has 4 teeth!
*Is loving drinking out of straw-she thinks she is really cool when she gets her own cup at the restaurant and gets to drink out of it.
*Is eating tons of table food and loving it all...she needs to have whatever it is that you are eating!
*Is starting to not be interested in her bottle as much as table food-this is not so good!
*Pulls up to stand on any and everything like it is the easiest thing she has ever done.
*Lets go of things while she is standing, but falls right back on her butt.
*Has learned the word "ball" but says "ba" and points at it-this is her favorite toy right now.
*She continues to sleep in her bed for the night, some mornings she likes to join us at 5 or so!!
*Still not showing a lot of interest in the sippy cup, but will drink out of a straw and a cup.
*She loves twirling her hair and holding her baby doll to put her to sleep.
*She only gets her pacifier at naptime or bedtime.

I have some great pictures of her, but don't have the cord to load them right now so I am hoping to do that tonight!!

Have a great Monday.

Happy Late Valentine's Day...

Our little Valentine hopes that everyone had a good day on Saturday. We went to Manhattan to the KSU/KU game and although it did not end like we wanted, we had a great time. I have been home with the flu all day today and am hoping that I am finally on the end of it. I really can't afford to not go to work(I am out of sick days). Here are a few pictures from a fun little photo shoot I had here at home with Taegan. She was laughing so hard in this picture it was so cute!!! Enjoy.

Not the best...

Well, Justin and I both knew that we were off this week with the diet and it is totally our faults. We let each other slip and we are having to now pay for that. This morning during weigh in we were hoping and praying for a miracle!!! It did not happen-we both gained a pound. We had to look on the bright side of it all that it was only a pound and we have been real bad about eating. So now we are giving ourselves until Sunday to get it out of our system(Valentine's Day is going to be a big day!) and start up again. We have been working on rearranging the house and things are in disarray right now so we have not been exercising!

Needless to say, it was not a great weigh in-but we knew what was going to happen!!! We will get back on the stick and get it done.

A little bit of everything...

I am sorry I have been missing for a little bit, things have been crazy busy! I have parent teacher conferences this week and we just had our Valentine Day at school yesterday. So needless to say I have been stretched to the max lately. Not to mention my back is killing me and I have no idea what I did to it. I am uncomfortable even when I am sitting and Aleve is not even touching the pain. I am looking forward to having Friday off after having to be at school until 8 the next two nights!!! On the bright side-this is my last set of conferences for a while!!! That is something to look forward to right now.

Taegan had her 9 month doctor visit on Friday and did great. No shots, so it was very uneventful. She weighs 20 pounds 4 ounces and is 28 and a half inches long. She is in the 75th percentile for both weight and height so is doing great. She also told us we were doing great working with the sippy cup and to keep it up. She did tell me it would be okay that once she was 12 to just cut the bottle cold turkey-I am just not sure I am ready for that at nighttime! We will see how it all goes. I can't believe that the next time we go back in she will already be a year old. WOW! Where did it go? The doctor also told us to continue to introduce lots of different table foods that are soft that she can get down. So far-pasta seems to be a huge hit for Taegan! Must be like her mom on that one!

About two weeks ago we went to the zoo for the first time and she loved it. We got a zoo pass for Christmas and I really think it will be a blessing to have that this summer. She could have sat there for hours just watching the hippos and the giraffes. She was just in awe of them. I can't wait until she is more mobile and will love it even more. I will leave you with some fun pictures of the last couple of weeks!!! Enjoy your Wednesday-the week is half over!

This is my pretty valentine princess this morning getting up
close and personal with the camera.
Here is the look Taegan gives a lot when I get the
camera out-she is really laughing.

moment together...so precious.

A success...

Today was weigh in...drum roll please-I lost 2.5 pounds and Justin lost .5 pounds! What a week-I feel real good about that. We have added Weight Watchers to our diet. This means we each have a certain amount of "points" we can have each day and each food has a certain point. We started that Tuesday, but so far so good. I was not sure Justin would buy into that with me, but he really has. We have a notepad in the kitchen that we are writing everything we put into our mouths and the points. It is much harder to put something into your mouth if you know you have to write it down and look at it!!! I am very proud of us for continuing with this diet. Justin seemed a little down this morning that his week was not better, but I gave him a pep talk:) Now we need to add the Weight Watchers with the Wii and it should be an awesome duo!! Can't wait to let you know next week how it is all going.

As far as Taegan and the sippy cup saga-it continues full force! Yesterday at lunch she decided to take all 6 ounces out of it and 2 ounces at dinner. This is quite a slow process, but we will stick with it. We will follow her lead, I just hope she knows that once she is a year old she WILL NOT have a bottle. If she doesn't like that she will be pretty hungry:)!!!

Nevermind...

Well, Taegan has yet again proven that she makes the rules and when she is not ready to do something it will not happen. She did decent with the sippy cup all day yesterday taking about 12.5 ounces out of it. Today she is not even close to interested at ALL! She is throwing it and playing with it and putting it to her lips but doing nothing else. So, it appears that she is not ready for this transition yet and we will keep waiting. We have talked about just waiting and switching her from the bottle to the sippy cup when we change over to milk for her. The next decision comes, when do we switch over? I know most say when they are one-but some are say earlier and others saying later. We know we won't wait past one year-but I guess she will decide that too:)

A small victory...

Okay, this morning while getting Taegan's breakfast ready I thought we might try the sippy cup again for the formula. Well, she took a little over 5 ounces out of it and she usually has 6 ounces in her bottle!!! That was HUGE for her. She did throw a bit of a fit and I took it away and when she wanted it back I gave it back. It was not an easy thing this morning-but I really think we may be getting somewhere. I know it might seem early to get her off the bottle, but I think she is ready and we are going to try it full force. So all she will be offered during the day is her sippy cup with formula and then she can have the bottle at night before bed(I am not ready to take that one away from her). We also thought that if she doesn't finish it because she is being stubborn she would just wait until she ate again!!! How mean am I???

Pray we have a good day drinking from the sippy cup!

Going Strong...

Priceless...
