Recovering

What a difference a week makes. Justin went back to work on Thursday and the ankle seems to be holding up pretty good. He can finally get a shoe on to wear to work instead of this big boot thing that he wore! We celebrated on Saturday with my parents in Kansas City for my birthday. We went out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and it was AMAZING! We were all stuffed beyond belief once we left and had leftovers for the next day. Taegan did wonderful in the car and at dinner. She is really starting to have a great personality and loves chattering with anyone. It is so much fun to talk back and forth with her.

I went back to my classroom on Friday morning again to keep working and get more things done. I got some things hung on the wall and my desk area pretty well set up. I was starting to get pretty excited while I was there, just nervous about leaving Taegan. I know she will be in great hands-I will just miss her like crazy!!! She just keeps changing.

We did make great strides this weekend with Miss Taegan! Justin was feeding her and he was holding the bottle out getting ready to put it in her mouth and she reached out with both hands to get it and pull it to her mouth. She then continued to hold the bottle with both hands! I did not believe it the first time, but she continued to do it for the entire feeding. So of course, I had to get a picture of it:) Here she is being a BIG girl!!!

Busy, Full, Eventful Weekend!!!

WOW! So much has happened since my last post. Where do I start? Let me start off by talking about Taegan's first road trip. Justin, Taegan, my mom and dad, and I all went to Tulsa for a craft show. Mom and I love craft shows and we had never been to the one in Tulsa so we thought it would be fun to check out! The guys decided to tag along to try and keep mom and I under control(it did not help). Taegan was a great traveler. We brought along her small bed and she did not like that very well for the whole night. Each night she woke up at 4:30 and decided she would rather share the queen bed with mom!! The hotel we stayed in had two bedrooms with their own bathroom. Our room had two queens in it so there was plenty of room. It was also her first time swimming. The pool was a little cold and it was almost her bedtime, so she was not that excited about it. She did enjoy it for a few minutes. Taegan was quite a trooper being stuck in
her car seat for the drive. Gotta love that sweet face.

Now for the next adventure when we arrived home. We got home on Saturday night and Justin had three softball games on Sunday night. He ended up getting hurt quite a few times that evening while Taegan and I were there watching him. I decided it was time to take Taegan home and get her ready for bed while Justin was finishing up his last game. He made a funny comment about how he would call me if he broke his ankle and would be going to the hospital! We laughed about it and I headed home. An hour later I got a text as Justin was heading home saying he had really messed up his ankle!!! And he was SERIOUS. So off we went to the doctor on Monday to find out he had deep tissue damage to his ankle and should be off work for a few days. So we are getting some great family time here at home while he is hurt. It is quite a challenge taking care of a husband who is slow moving and a three month old. I am managing!! To make matters even worse-I go back to school in two weeks...........yikes I am not ready for that. Here is a picture of the beautiful ankle that Justin is trying to nurse back to health.

One more cute picture of my little girl loving her pool here at home! She played for 45 minutes today in the water.

New Toy!

Taegan has discovered her hands a lot lately. She loves just looking at them and playing with them. She enjoys licking them and is really starting to hold on to things. You have to help her hold on to the toys at the beginning, but then she goes to town with moving it once she knows she has it in her hand. Yesterday while I was working at school she discovered the blanket that I had laying on her legs and she pulled it up to her face and fell asleep with it in her hands. Dad says she is going to be a blankie girl! We will see. We did get her a new toy last night-it is a seahorse glow thing. It is very similiar to a glow worm, but it goes with her ocean theme from her room. She loved it today right before nap. It helped her fall fast asleep as she rested her head against it!!! Also last night she started making different sounds and coos! We had a ball with her last night listening to all the different sounds and noises she can make. This is her falling asleep with her new buddy!

Happy Anniversary

We made it! One year ago today we were on the beach in Jamaica getting spoiled all morning before the wedding at 4:30. It was such an amazing time for both of us. We spent last night looking through our wedding album and talking all about our trip-it was a lot of fun. So much has happened for us in a year, it has been great. We would have never thought we would be where we are right now and as happy as we are a year ago. Everything has worked out amazing for us and we feel lucky to be this happy. We have a beautiful daughter that we get to celebrate everyday-could we get any luckier??? This is a picture of us celebrating two weeks ago on the plaza. We had to celebrate early because our other weekends were full! We had a good time being able to relax together-and got to eat at Ruth's Chris!!!! WOW!

Did not get to go work in my classroom today, they are waxing my hallway-so I will go in tomorrow. I will get to take Taegan with me tomorrow because she is with Grandma Becky as we speak so I will have her back tomorrow! That should be an interesting time...we will see how she does!
This is Taegan showing us what a big girl she is becoming by sitting alone in her Bumbo!

Trying something new...

I have decided to try out this blogging thing instead of the babysite that I had up and running for Taegan. I was starting to run out of room over there and wanted to be able to keep things going and give you updates on Justin and I! I am really getting into this internet thing and all the new things I can do with it, so I thought I would give this a try.

Taegan is so much fun lately-we have had a ball this summer. On Wednesday I realized that I go back to school in exactly four weeks. It seems like just yesterday that I was leaving school early and waiting very "patiently" for Taegan to arrive. And now before I know it I am going to have to say goodbye. That makes me very sad.

I am heading back to the classroom on Monday to start doing some work in there. Taegan will spend the day with Grandma Becky so that I can try and be very productive at school. I am not sure how much I will get done because it will be a long day without Taegan with me. We have really got ourselves into a good routine and it will be hard to break it. Although I am sure I will be the only one that it will be hard on!! Taegan has a great babysitter she will go to....

Going Strong...

Priceless...
